Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s tissues. While RA primarily affects the joints, it can also impact other parts of the body, such as the eyes and lungs.
Common symptoms of RA include joint pain, stiffness, and swelling, often affecting both sides of the body simultaneously. Joint pain is typically worse after periods of inactivity, causing significant morning stiffness or stiffness after sitting for long periods. Movement and exercise can help reduce this stiffness and improve overall well-being.
If left untreated, RA can lead to irreversible joint damage. Therefore, it is crucial to manage inflammation early to prevent joint deterioration. With effective control of inflammation, joint damage can be avoided.
There are various treatments available for RA, which are tailored to each individual’s needs. At ASC, we offer in-office laboratory testing, X-rays, and joint ultrasounds to aid in diagnosis. Once RA is diagnosed, we work closely with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan aimed at reducing inflammation, protecting the joints, and enhancing the quality of life.
